Roles.
Co-creation means that the burn is created by you. Yes, you!
You have not bought a ticket, but a membership that invites and expects you to co-create and take on responsibility. Don’t worry, it’s fun! Since we are all co-creators of this magical experience, every member is asked to sign up for at least one of our necessary roles when securing a membership.
MOOPsters
One of the principles we live by is Leave No Trace. If we are hands on during the whole event, we will minimise the amount of MOOP (matter out of place) there is to clean up during strike. We should also encourage everyone to take responsibility for their own MOOP.
As a MOOPster you will go for a round around the site and pick up MOOP, clean and tidy around washing stations and toilets, sanitise common areas, and encourage fellow participants to act in line with the LNT (Leave No Trace) principle. As a part of this team, you will also drop things off at the lost and found. A MOOPster’s contribution is a true gift to the community!

Greeters
As a Greeter you will welcome the amazing humans upon arrival to the burn in the warmest, most playful, informative and COVID-19 friendly way. People will most likely come from all directions and at different times, and may have had a long journey. And you will gift them an amazing welcome experience to remember <3
The Greeters Team also checks memberships (tickets) and gives essential information to all new arrivals.
The Greeters team works in close collaboration with Rangers, the Site Lead and the Traffic/Parking teams.

For the Strike role you must be able to stay Sunday Aug 1st and possibly Monday Aug 2nd.
During Strike you will help take down and remove all traces of the event by informing campers and camps of leaving times, reminding everyone to take their own rubbish home, suggest campers to do a final MOOP (matter out of place) sweep around their camping area. You will also check communal areas for cleanliness and support take-down of organisation’s own structures
As a bonus, you will get the cosy camping on-site experience with other fortunate burner friends who also stayed for strike, for an additional night! (if there’s a need to stay until Monday)

As a Ranger you will walk around and do casual check-ins here and there while spreading a good vibe. Rangers engage with the community and are always ready to help sort things out. The Ranger fulfills their duty in a playful and engaging way.
Rangers are not security personnel or police. They are participants of the community.
